Sol-Gel Processing of Inorganic-Organic Hybrid Materials II. Progress and Application of the Hybrids

Hybrid inorganic- organic materials are multifunctional materials offering a wide range of interesting properties. The mild chem-istry conditions involved in the sol - gel process allows the adjustrnent of the degree of interpenetration of organic and inorganic compo-nents from the sub - micronic down to nano scale level. This paper summarizes the recent progress and application of sol - gel derived in-organic - organic hybrids.
