A Review of Testing and Characterizing Methods of Flame Retardant Materials

The testing and characterizing methods of flame retardant ( FR) materials have been reviewed in this paper. A bench-scale instrument of new generation - CONE calorimeter has been introduced, which can appraise the combustion behavior of materials perfectly. Meanwhile, the analysis of FR properties and mechanism of FR materials will be more exactly if several testing methods are used together.
