In order to recognize the safety and immunogenticity of influenza (flu) vaccine, especially the dose forms used for children, we carried out a study of the safety and immunogenicity of VAXIGRIP inoculated in children and adults in Tianjin at the end of 1999. A total of 53 adults (aged between 25~55 years old) and 69 children (aged between 6 months-3 years old) were included. The side-effect rates of adults and chilaren were 3.8% and 8.7% respectively, while the antibody positive seroconversion rates reached 92.2% and 85.8% respectively. The study showed that both the children dose form and the adult dose form of VAXIGRIP are with good immunogenicity and safety.
