OBJECTIVE To study the relationship between the self-efficacy and self-management behaviors of the pregnant women.METHODS The General Self-Efficacy Seale(GSES) by Ralf Sehwarzer and The Self-rating Questionnaire of Healthcare Management for Pregnancy(SQHMP) were used to investigate the self-efficacy and self-management behaviors of 160 pregnant women.RESULTS There was statistically significant difference between score of GSES of the pregnant women and normal score(t =-9.53,P ﹤ 0.01).The score of self-healthcare management in these pregnant women was bit low(63.74± 11.49).In every domain, the maximal one was self-protection behavior, followed by daily life behavior and medical compliance behavior, while the minimal one was fetal monitoring behavior. There was a positive and significant relationship between self-efficacy and self-management behaviors of the pregnant women(P﹤0.01).CONCLUSION The self-efficacy need to be enhanced and self-management behaviors need to be improved, and the self-management behavior is related to their self-efficacy.Health education is benefit for improving self-efficacy and self-management behaviors.
