Application of Computational Fluid Dynamics Software in Research of Aerodynamic Characteristics of Automobiles

The research of aerodynamic characteristics plays an important role in automobile design.Along with the development of computer technology and numerical calculation method,computational fluid dynamics(CFD) is widely applied in the study of aerodynamic characteristics of automobiles.Nowadays,kinds of CFD softwares are used for engineering design.A brief introduction of CFD is presented.With several simple examples,the application of CFD software in the research of aerodynamic characteristics is illustrated.
