AN ANALYSIS OF THE STATUS OF BLOOD TRANSFUSION IN HOSPITAL

Objective To investigate the rationality of blood transfusion in our hospital. Methods This study consisted of 700 files of patients who received blood transfusion during 2006-2008,of which,500 files were from the surgical departments and 200 from the departments of internal medicine.According to the guideline in operation and trauma and the guideline in internal medicine in The Technological Specification of Clinical Blood Transfusion,the rationality of blood transfusion was assessed. Results Of the 700 cases studied,reasonable blood transfusion accounted for 44%,partial reasonable,40%,and unreasonable,16%.The percentage of reasonable transfusion was higher in internal medicine(χ2=91.827,P0.01). ConclusionUnreasonable blood transfusion is generally present in our hospital,a higher ratio being in surgical departments.
