A Review of the Research of Neologism in the Recent Thirty Years

Neologisms or new words have been the most active layer in the languages and can best reflect the current status of people' s reality and mentality. This paper,based on the retrospection of the 30 years' researches of neologisms in China,suggested the demarcation of neologisms and analyzed the research content and the empirical research methods adopted of the neologisms. Finally,in line with the summarization of the matters of standardization of the neologisms,the paper predicted the trend of development of neologisms and provided some motivations for the scholars in their future research of neologisms.
