Aluminum and 6063 aluminum alloy are joined by using a series of Al-Si-Cu-Zn.brazing filler metals. The technological and mechanical property of different composition of brazing filler metals are studied. The result indicates that the Al55Si10Cu20Zn5 filler metal has the lowest melting point. Its solidus temperature is 499.5 ℃ and liquidus temperature is 523 ℃, which is 60 ℃ lower than the traditional Al-Si filler metal. Compared with the other three kinds of Al-Si-Cu-Zn filler metals, the Al65Si10Cu20Zn5 has the best wettability on aluminum and 6063 aluminum alloy matched with QJ201 or QF flux. Adopting the QJ201 flux, the Al65Si10Cu20Zn5 filler metal has the greatest shear strength, no matter on aluminum or 6063 aluminum alloy.
