Modeling of citric acid production using SuperPro Designer

In this chapter, SuperPro Designer is used for the modeling of a citric acid production case study. Some advanced modeling and scheduling features of SuperPro Designer will be illustrated. Implementation of throughput analysis and debottlenecking strategies will be demonstrated. The last part of the chapter is devoted to the assessment of the economic viability of the process, along with the handling of process uncertainties.
