            At present, the lithium-ion battery has become an important part of new energy vehicles and energy storage systems and its performance plays a vital role in the healthy and rapid development of new energy vehicles and energy storage industry. Among them, electrolyte, as an important part of the lithium-ion battery, plays a key role in battery performance, but the leakage of liquid electrolyte will lead to lithium-ion battery fire, combustion and even explosion. Therefore, the development of gel electrolytes with high safety performance is favored by researchers. In this paper, the preparation method of PVDF-HFP gel electrolyte was introduced based on the characteristics of the polymer material matrix. The modification method of PVDF-HFP gel electrolyte was studied from three aspects: polymer matrix, inorganic filler and additive. The results showed that the modification of the polymer matrix was used to introduce the advantages of other polymers to improve the performance of the target matrix and the modification of inorganic filler can accelerate the ion migration and improve the conductivity of electrolyte by adding filler. In addition, additive modification is to achieve specific functions by introducing additives into the electrolyte.
