摘要
The need for bulk energy storage systems hasarisen due to the unreliable nature of the alternate energygeneration. Currently, two energy storage systems are beingemployed around the world for bulk power storage, whichare Pumped-hydro energy storage (PHES) and compressedairenergy storage (CAES) systems. But, due to theirdependency on geographical location, these two systemscannot be used with all power generation systems. Anotherthe system has recently been introduced that combines theadvantages of both PHES and CAES system known asPumped-hydro-compressed-air (PHCA). The mainadvantage of the PHCA system over the other two isindependence from the specific geographical locations andcompactness.In this paper, the working model of the PHCA system isdesigned that stores the potential energy in the form ofwater and air pressure; the water is stored at the pressureof 500 psi. The PHCA storage system starts generating thepower during outages and power variations in the maingeneration system.
