摘要
Electrocatalytic CO 2 reduction reaction (CO 2 RR) is regarded as one of the promising methods to improve CO 2 resource utilization. Among the transition metal-based compounds, Cu-based compounds have been widely investigated for the electrochemical CO 2 RR to yield high-value-added products with two or more carbons (C 2+ products). To obtain highly efficient and selective CO 2 RR electrocatalysts, numerous strategies, such as vacancy, facet, and heterostructure engineering, are extensively employed to design advanced Cu-based compounds. In this section, these effective methods are systematically discussed, and the underlying mechanism that directly influence the intrinsic catalytic activity of as-synthesized Cu-based compounds are analyzed. Finally, the challenges and perspectives on the development of Cu-based compounds as CO 2 RR catalysts are proposed.
