Ectopic prostate tissue at the bladder

A 59-year-old man was referred to us for evaluation of an asymptomatic lesion in the bladder that had been detected on ultrasonography performed during a physical screening. Pelvic CT revealed an abnormal enhanced lesion (red arrow) along the anterior wall of urinary bladder (Fig. 1A). Cystoscopy showed a 1.0 × 1.0 cm2 nodular lesion covered with hyperemic mucosa on the anterior wall of the dome region. The patient underwent transurethral resection of bladder lesion. Pathological examination indicated ectopic prostate tissue (Fig. 1B) and immunohistochemical examination revealed that the lesion cells were positive for prostate specific antigen (Fig. 1C). The patient was feeling well at 1 month of follow-up.
