Application of ammonium formate in catalytic transfer hydrogenation

Ammonium formate as the hydrogen donor in catalytic transfer hydrogenation was widely used in organic synthesis.This paper reviews the application of ammonium formate in reduction of nitric functional groups,dehalogenation of aromatic chlorocarbons,deprotection of functional groups,reduction of ketones and unsaturated ketones.
