Advanced technology for biodiesel preparation

The characteristics and production methods of biodiesel have been reviewed.The reac-tion mechanism and different production techniques of transesterification were introduced mainly.The new development of preparation of biodiesel by transesterification has been introduced,includ-ing supercritical fluid,lipase catalysts,ultrasonic,and ion liquid methods.In the end,the existent problems and research directions of biodiesel technology are pointed out in this paper.
