Purpose -The purpose of this paper is to study the association between two dimensions of dependent supplier-customer relationships (supplier's dependence and customer's dependence) and supplier's corporate innovation. The paper also engages in the moderating effect of the relationship duration to interect with two dimensions of dependent suppliercustomer relationships.Methodologies -The main estimate model is fixed-effects Poisson regression. The alternative estimate models are random-effects Poisson regression and Poisson pseudomaximum likelihood regressions.Findings -The relationship duration cannot moderate the effect of supplier's dependence and customer's dependence on the quantity of innovation. However, the relationship duration positively moderates the effect of supplier's dependence on the quality of innovation while negatively moderates the effect of customer's dependence on the quality of innovation.Implications -When suppliers aim to improve their innovative performance, they should maintain long-term relationships with major customers under high level of supplier's dependence while obviate long-term relationships with major customers under high level of customer's dependence
