Application of Charged Aerosol Detection in Traditional Herbal Medicines Analysis

Traditional herbal medicines (THMs) have garnered global attention due to their diverse chemical constituents and notable pharmacological activities. However, the complexity and variability in their composition present substantial challenges for analysis and quality control. Charged aerosol detection (CAD), with its high sensitivity, consistent response regardless of chemical structure, and user-friendly operation, offers great promise and research potential in the analysis of THMs. This chapter summarizes recent developments in the application of CAD for the evaluation of the quality of THMs, highlighting its characteristics and advantages across various categories of constituents through specific examples.
