Primary Hyperparathyroidism

Persons with mild hyperparathyroidism are at increased risk for renal stones, cortical bone loss, and fractures. Surgery is recommended for those younger than 50 years of age and those with osteoporosis, renal complications, or clinically significant hypercalcemia.
