Test study on rock mechanics for Danjiangkou Project

The experimental study of rock mechanics for dam foundation of Danjiangkou Project lasts 18 years. During this period of the test researches on physicomechanical properties of rock, shear resistance of rock mass, characteristics of rock mass deformation and dynamic elasticit parameters in situ were performed. The rock mechanical test results obtained in calendar years are summarized, and analysed from tests and geological conditions. Based on the opeological condition such as strength and integrity of rock mass, the rock mass of dam foundation is classified into three group, and their recommended values of rock mechanical prarameters are proposed separately.
