Research progresses of production control strategies in just-in-time production system

This paper reviews and compares the research works of production control strategies in just-in-time production system in the literature. It includes models of different control strategies, various analysis methods, and approaches of determining and allocating kanbans in the production system. We extend the research works for the production system from a tandem configuration to a general configuration that is more complex and consistent with actual production systems. Based on the analysis, four production control strategies are proposed. There have been some new progresses on the issue.
