Accumulating data evidenced inflammation involved in Alzheimer’s disease (AD). Microglia, one of the main immune cells in central nerve system, was activated in inflammation with morphological changes from resting ramified to staffed and amoeboid cells. Moreover, toxic cytokines and inflammatory mediators were released, which exerted a series of influence on adjacent tissue. Inhibiting the microglia activation to attenuate inflammatory damage will be an important strategy to prevent the further deterioration in AD.
