In the Summary and in the Methods section, the time period for the mean nocturnal number of lapses was given as 00:00–19:30 hours. This should have read 00:00–07:30 hours. In Figure 1 the labelling of the vertical axis (Alert and Sleepy) was inverted. The correct figure is printed below. The publisher apologizes for these errors and any inconvenience they may have caused.
