Comparison of Accelerated Corrosion Test Methods

By use of solventborne coatings and waterborne coatings,the influence of NORSOK M-501 cyclic corrosion test,ASTM B117 salt spray test,ASTM 5894 cyclic corrosion test and ASTM 5894 salt spray test on coatings have been studied.It is found that corrosion of NORSOK M-501 cyclic corrosion test is contributed to seam corrosion and physical action,but corrosion of ASTM 5894 cyclic corrosion test is based on physical action and uniform corrosion in slightly acid,condition.
