Acquired, bilateral nevus of Ota-like macules in children: Clinical findings in 46 patients

To the Editor: Acquired, bilateral navus of Ota-like macules (ABNOM) is a common dyschromia in Asian individuals. Most studies suggest that the onset age of ABNOM is after the second decade. Wang et al1 showed that the highest prevalence was observed in those aged 45-55 years in Shanghai, the People's Republic of China, while the youngest age of onset in children was a five-year-old girl. However, few published studies have included pediatric patients, and few clinical presentations have been described in children.
