It is necessary to remove hydrogen sulfide from biogas before it is utilized.Bio-desulfurization is a new method to remove hydrogen sulfide from biogas.It has the advantages of low cost and no secondary pollution.Bio-desulfurization process with a biogas treatment capacity of 1 000 m3/d was used in the third phase project of Liuminying biogas station.The removal efficiency of hydrogen sulfide is related to the pH,contact time,biogas-water ratio and temperature.90% hydrogen sulfide with the initial concentration of 2 000 to 3 000 μL/L can be removed under the conditions of pH 8,biogas-water ratio 10 ∶1 and contact time 47 s.85% sulfide in the regeneration tank is converted to elemental sulfur.Considering the technology and economy,it is feasible to adopt the bio-desulfurization process in the large and middle biogas projects.
