Asymmetric Synthesis of Hydroisoquinoline Derivatives, a Key Intermediate for Manzamine Synthesis, by Diels–Alder Reaction Using 4-Amino-2-siloxybutadiene

Abstract A novel method for the synthesis of chiral hydroisoquinolines by asymmetric Diels–Alder reaction of nitrogen-containing dienophiles and suitably protected aminosiloxybutadienes has been developed. The product could be a key intermediate for synthesis of manzamine alkaloids.
