Optimization of Limestone-gypsum Wet Process of FGD by Adding Organic Acid

Systematic experiments were carried out in an industrial-scale desulfurization system to investigate the effect of adding organic acid on the desulfurization result,and formic acid was selected as the additive.Changes of pH value,desulfurization degree,utility of limestone with addition amount of formic acid were analyzed as well as the relation of desulfurization degree and pH value.The dissolution process of limestone after adding formic acid was also discussed.The results show that,with the increase of addition amount of formic acid,the desulfurization rate and the utility of limestone gradually increase to maximal value,while further increasing the addition amount of formic acid,the process can not been further intensified.The desulfurization rate increases continuously with increasing of pH value in the range of acidity.This study can provide important reference for optimization of desulfuration process.
