Frostbite, a type of local cold-induced injury, usually affects the extremities. Superficial frostbite affects the skin and subcutaneous tissues; however, deep frostbite may affect bones, joints and tendons. Frostbite is uncommon in subtropical zone because of the relative hot weather. Therefore, it always occurs accidentally under the subtropical climate. Propane gas is a safe, convenient and less cost fuel with worldwide use. For convenience, it should be stored and transported by liquid phase in closed tanks under sufficiently high pressure. A 31-year-old man who was incidentally injured by liquefied propane gas (LPG) is reported. The diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of frostbite, also the properties of and frostbite caused by LPG are discussed.
