摘要
Nanotechnology circumscribes designing of numerous materials right from the nano level in order to achieve exclusive properties that could be appropriately manipulated by the required applications. Silver nanoparticles have been recognised as an antimicrobial agent with a lesser amount of toxicity on the mammalian cells. The substantial step in the nanotechnology field is to engineer procedure used for the synthesis of size and shape-controlled nanoparticles. Synthesis of Ag NPs with various size and morphology enabled the opportunity to use in the medical field as potential antibacterial agents. For the very first time, this paper significantly emphasises the antibacterial activity of accurate shape and specified size-controlled Ag nanoparticles. The approaches and procedures for the producing the Ag NPs are reported with a discussion of growth mechanisms and common criteria needed for the required shapes and sizes. This review's goal is to recapitulate the detailed review of current advances in the shape and size-controlled Ag NPs synthesis and their role in antibacterial activity.
