In order to understand the effects of gravity distortion on seismic responses under shaking table test, based on the theory of hybrid model of artificial mass, a CFST arch rib model scaled 1:10 was conducted under shaking tables. Five artificial masses were set up to realize the different gravity distortion parameters. Several earthquake waves and artificial waves with five time-compressive similarity coefficients were input both in the longitudinal direction and transverse direction in the test. The testing results indicate that the gravity distortion has great effects on the first natural vibration frequency of the model. The effects of gravity distortion on acceleration response of transverse direction are more significant than longitudinal direction. The effects of gravity distortion on acceleration response can be reduced by adjusting the complementary artificial mass of model.
