摘要
Abstract A practical and environmentally benign method for the synthesis of substituted quinolines via an FeCl 3 ‐catalysed coupling reaction of aldehydes, amines, and styrenes in the presence of oxygen is described. The remarkable features of this quinoline synthesis include simple operation, mild reaction conditions, a wide substrate scope, a non‐toxic and inexpensive FeCl 3 catalyst, readily available starting materials, the use of oxygen as an oxidant, and no hazardous byproducts.
