Objective To evaluate the effect of community intervention study for hypertension in rural areas.Methods The population older than 35 were divided into three groups,including patient group,high-risk population group,and general population group.Different intervention measures were used for different groups.Results 6 years after intervention,the mean of systolic pressure in intervention community decreased by 4.10 mmHg(P0.01);the harmful dietary habit changed;the smoking rate in male decreased by 22.85%(P0.01);the drinking rate in male decreased by 23.64%(P0.01).Awareness rate,treatment rate and controlling rate of hypertensive increased(P0.05).Conclusions The comprehensive community intervention is effective to prevent and control hypertension.It should be continued and practiced in other communities.
