Iodo(triphenyl)silane

The molecular structure of the title compound, C 18 H 15 ISi, which crystallizes in the space group C 2/ c , does not exhibit any unusual features. Two weak C—H...π interactions may help to consolidate the packing. The present structure is not isostructural with the known Ph 3 Si X ( X = F, Cl or Br) compounds.
