Abstract In this paper, we proposed a reconfigurable multi-passband multifunctional device for wireless communications based on spoof surface plasmon polaritons (SSPP). By integrating a digitized coding state and varactor diodes, the device dynamically adjusts SSPP dispersion characteristics, enabling both multi-passband filtering and 2FSK modulation. It supports dual- and triple-passband selection across 1.68–19.98 GHz, with transmission loss controlled under 2.68 dB, which is acceptable in specific short-range or device-integrated wireless communication applications and rejection above −20 dB, ensuring effective signal separation and frequency selection in complex environments. By combining digital coding with electronic bias control, the device also enables 2FSK modulation for multi-channel communication and multi-frequency signal processing. This approach effectively tackles high-frequency modulation challenges and enables artificial surface communication systems.
