Abstract A reductive cross‐coupling reaction between aromatic aldehydes and arylnitriles using a copper catalyst and a silylboronate as a reductant is reported. This protocol represents an unprecedented approach to the chemoselective synthesis of α‐hydroxy ketones by electrophile–electrophile cross‐coupling.
