Liquefied Petroleum Gas can be highly inflammable and can act as incendiary in the household. Gas leakage which goes unnoticed is a major reason for domestic and industrial fire accidents. The existing system detects gas leakage and notify the user but it fails to further stop the gas leakage. The proposed system provides a solution by including an automatic locking system. The MQ-5 sensor used in the system detects the concentration of gas in the atmosphere, and when it exceeds the set threshold, it activates the buzzer and sends an SMS to the user via the GSM modem. It also employs an evacuation module which turns on an exhaust fan to clear the atmosphere in the household as well as the solenoid valve attached to the regulator to close the cylinder and stop further flow of gas.
