摘要
The crucial role played by the hydraulic cylinder in various industrial equipments and automated systems made it a matter of concern to focus more on its design aspects for the safe operation. Hydraulic systems are the fluid power system which is widely used for different industrial applications. Hence, failures are not expected in such system as it can disrupt the overall operation. In hydraulic system most failures are due to the failure of linear actuator which are mainly caused due to the design aspects, material composition, structural integrity and negligence of preventive action to be taken to avoid such breakdown. Strain gauges mounted on the surface of Piston-rod so as to perform the stress-strain analysis. By using LMS data acquisition system(DAQ) real-time stress- strain data has been recorded. This experimentation helpss us to know the maximum allowable load, a cylinder can sustain and to take preventive action prior to the failure of hydraulic actuator.
