View Video Presentation: https://doi.org/10.2514/6.2023-1299.vid As the amount of space debris in orbit grows, the need for methods of mitigating space debris becomes apparent. One potential source of inspiration for space debris removal methods is nature. After studying various methods of space debris removal, a net casting spider-inspired method of space debris removal was selected. The HexSat that is proposed consists of six separate wedges that can fly apart to form a net for capturing debris. Once the target debris has been created, the HexSat will reenter and burn up in the atmosphere.
