摘要
Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) have shown great potential and flexibility in numerous fields such as image generation, image editing, and text generation. Applying GANs to the preservation and restoration of cultural heritage can effectively contribute to the protection and development of cultural heritage. This article provides an overview of the development of GANs and analyzes their main advantages and disadvantages. Additionally, it summarizes typical GAN architectures and focuses on introducing key application scenarios. Finally, it conducts a detailed investigation of the application scenarios of GANs in cultural heritage, such as artifact restoration, automatic generation, and image enhancement. In addition, we give the future development direction of GANs in cultural heritage preservation.
