摘要
The combination of Ozone and UV irradiation has been studied for the removal of SO2 and NOX in the aqueous mode. It has been attempted to get complete removal of the flue gases by different combinations of molar ratio of Ozone, flue gas, and UV irradiation power. The amount of hydroxyl radicals generated by the combination of UV and O3 has been measured. A complete comparison of the contribution of the oxidants such as ozone, UV and hydroxyl radicals has been depicted. Due to the high power demand for UV lamps and ozone generators, it is important to find a suitable route to decrease power consumption. This has been achieved by changing the operation mode of the gases, where more than 95% NOX and almost 100% SO2 removal were recorded at a low ozone generation rate and a moderate UV lamp.
