Property Analysis of Biodegradable Material P(3HB-co-4HB)

In this paper,the basic properties and degradation properties of Poly(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-4-hydroxybutyrate) (P(3HB-co-4HB)) with different molar fraction of 4-hydroxybutyrate(4HB) were investigated.Differential scanning calorimetry, polarized optical microscopy,pull machine,scanning electron microscope were used to determine the basic properties and degradation process of P(3HB-co-4HB).The results showed that P(3HB-co-4HB) is a kind of environment friendly and biodegradable material.The physical properties,the size and morphology of the spherulites change a lot as the molar fraction of 4HB changes,the degradation in soil results in loss of weight and roughness of the material surface.
