To investigate the bacteriostasis mechanism of silver nanoparticles,the growth,morphology and ultrastructure of Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus were analyzed.Results showed that obvious bacteriostasis effects were observed when 400 μL 0.2 mmmol·L-1 nanoparticles(AgNPs) solution was added into Escherichia coli solution(600 each/mL) above 37℃.Better bacteriostasis results could be obtained when more AgNPs and longer time were applied.It was also found that AgNPs were more efficient towards Staphylococcus aureus.
