Chilling damage is one of the major limitations to rice production in china. This paper carried on the comprehensive summary the cold tolerance mechanism in rice for the cold-stress strongly influence on the growth and development, the flowering and fruiting, and the physiological mechanism. Finally, according to the research progress of cold tolerance in rice,some problems that need been researched and discussed were proposed.
