Visible light-driven regioselective tert-butyl peroxidation and hydroperoxidation of alkenes using TBHP

We report a visible-light-driven bisperoxidation of aryl alkenes using TBHP, enabling the regioselective synthesis of α,β-bisperoxides. This represents the first radical reaction using TBHP as source of tert -butylperoxy and hydroperoxy groups.
