Comparative study of 140 dental implants between dental cone-beam CT and surgery:control of surgery risk

Objective:A comparison study was carried out between results of computerized tomography scanning and surgery to evaluate the clinical value of computerized tomography in dental implant.Methods:Dental Cone-beam CT was used and 77 cases with 140 dental implants from 2006 to 2008 were examined.The results of CT scaning and reconstruction were compared with the surgery.An analysis was carried out and a summary was drawn.Results:Dental CT can not only measure the bone volume and quality of implant bed accurately,but also evaluate the risk of surgery.It should be used as routine examination in dental implant practice.
