Synthesis of Lignin-Based Polyurethane and Its Properties

Lignin based polyurethane was synthesized by using lignin, 2,4-tolulene diisocyanate(2,4-TDI) and hexamethylene diisocyanate(HDI),its properties were determined.The study shows that by hydroxypropyl modification lignin is made polyester ether, it can react with diisocyanates to synthesize polyurethane.The ratio of —NCO to —OH affects differently the properties of lignin based polyurethane synthesized by TDI and HDI respectively.
