Objective To investigate an effective method for the treatment of unresectable liver cancer. Methods Restrospectively study was used to analyse the effect of the radiofrequency ablation (RFA) on 45 patients suffering from unresectable liver cancer from 2001 to 2004 in our hospital. Results 45 cases suffering from unresectable liver cancer were treated with RFA. Among these cases, percutaneous radiofrequency ablation was used in 32 cases, and 1,3-year survival rates was 53% (17 cases) and 31% (10 cases); RFA in open surgery was used in 13 cases ,1,3-year survival rates were 31% (4 cases) and 8% (1 cases). Conclusion To the patients with unresectable liver cancer, RFA is an effective treatment.
