To investigate the effect of replacing 10% fish meal by various soybean products on growth performance of P.vannamei(Boone),dehulled soybean cake, soybean protein and fermented soybean cake were used, which had the same protein content as the replaced fish meal.Four diets, including normal fish meal diet(35% fish meal,NFM),low fish meal diets(25% fish meal)added with dehulled soybean cake(DSY),Hamlet soybean protein(HSB),Biduofu soybean protein(BSB)and Futai fermented soybean(FSB),were fed to P.vannamei with the body weight of 0.06 g.After one-month feeding, shrimps fed with NFM diet had the highest growth rate(1316%)and survival rate(97.5%),but the lowest growth rate(783%)was for shrimps fed with DSY diet. The growth rates 1033%,983% and 1050% were for shrimps fed with HSB,BSB and FSB diet, which were significantly higher than DSB shrimp(P0.05),but lower than NFM shrimp(P0.05).There was no difference in water and protein content in muscles of all shrimps. The results showed that soybean protein and fermented soybean cake were better protein substitutes for fish meal than dehulled soybean cake, but the best substituting ration should be determined in future study.
