Next Generation Very High-Speed PONs Which Loss Budgets can be Supported by IM-DD and Coherent

The analysis of IM-DD and coherent technologies for the next generation 100 and 200Gb/s PONs is ongoing in G.sup.VHSP. Numerous contributions to G.sup.VHSP have been made to investigate receiver sensitivities to determine which loss budgets can be supported. This paper will give an overview of all the contributions made to G.sup.VHSP to determine which loss budgets can be supported for next generation 100G and 200 PONs.
