Preliminary Study on Method to Calculate Instrument Seismic Intensity

The current China Seismic Intensity Table gives the relationship between the two physical parameters,PGA and PGV of horizontal ground motion,and the seismic intensity for seismic area with intensity over Ⅴdegree.However,when PGA and PGV are separately used to calculate the instrument intensity,there are usually some differences between calculation results and related field survey intensities.Therefore,One weighting method using both PGA and PGV to evaluate the intensity is proposed in this paper.The results indicate that it can make much improvement,i.e.making the instrument intensity much closer to the filed investigated intensity.
